Countless Possibilities: 3D Printed LightPaper

Blog | by Linda Arcadipane | 04.14.2021

It seems everyone today is talking about the revolutionary impact of 3D printing technology…but now let’s take it a step further.

Imagine if we could use this awesome technology to produce light.  And what if we could use that light on any packaging structure we desired? Well, we are. With the help of US-based lighting engineers, Rohinni, this incredible vision has become a reality. Rohinni has developed a form of what it calls Lightpaper, which IBC Shell will be incorporating into our structural and graphic design. It’s a way to print lighting and apply it to nearly any surface, in any shape, for any situation. Yep, that’s right! Imagine the endless possibilities for a light-producing product that can be printed for packaging and display. Will future generations view light bulbs as we do typewriters and pagers?

Technology engineers at IBC Shell are immersed in finding new ways to bring groundbreaking technologies like Lightpaper to our clients’ fingertips, putting their products at the forefront of packaging innovation.
